Major awards for Athos and Sea Eagle

The 62m / 203ft classic schooner was converted – outside and inside – and optimized by Huisfit at her birthplace in Amsterdam. The 81m / 266ft contemporary flybridge schooner, Sea Eagle was delivered by Royal Huisman in 2020. She is a true sailing yacht and one of the world’s 10 largest sailing yachts.

Note the judges’ comments about why Athos is a winner: “Superb refit of a beautiful classic yacht combining all the various design and build elements (yard, designer, naval architects) and a committed and engaged owner with a clear understanding of what he wanted.  Good interaction between all parties to ensure that his requirements were met. The use of marble, wood, and meticulously selected fixtures and fittings contributes to the creation of a timeless yet stylish interior ambiance.”

The judges about Sea Eagle: “Beautiful schooner from Royal Huisman – a credit to the yard, designer and owner. Emphasizing practicality, comfort, safety, stability, and performance, it impeccably fulfills these criteria. She has clean open desks, modern and sleek lines and good sea keeping abilities.”

Both awards were handed out and bestowed by industry peers during the Fort Lauderdale International Boat Show. The team of Huisfit and Royal Huisman considers it a great honor to receive this acknowledgement from such a distinguished committee.
